About The Flealess Market's Rufous Hummingbird Sun Catcher:
We wanted to introduce a hand blown glass Rufous Hummingbird as part of our 2009 hummingbird collection. We finally found an accomplished hand blown glass artist who would craft one for us, in 2010! This hand blown glass hummingbird sun catcher is crafted from clear Pyrex glass, then hand painted with the shimmering orange color of an adult male Rufous Hummingbird. Finally, the wing tips and beak are overlaid with genuine 22kt gold, producing a stunning effect of light, color, and sparkle in sunlight. This is a hand blown glass hummingbird that you simply won't find anywhere else. If you are a hand blown glass hummingbird collector, you'll show this Rufous Hummingbird with pride! Please note that as with all hand-crafted items, there are slight variations from one piece to another.
Each of our hand blown glass hummingbird sun catchers comes with a free suction cup hanger and clear nylon filament for hanging. Or you may choose any of our hummingbird sun catchers as a planter decoration, with a free sleeve attachment and a replaceable 1-foot bamboo stake that you can cut to the exact height you wish. Quantity discounts and wholesale pricing are available for the Rufous Hummingbird, and for many of our other hand blown glass sun catchers. Please inquire to webmaster@flealess.org.
As always, these and all of our hand blown glass crafts are made in the U.S.A. Please inquire for shipping rates outside the US.
About the Rufous Hummingbird:
West of the Rockies, from Alaska southward, hummingbird feeders are likely to be visited by the fiery little Rufous Hummingbird. The male is very territorial and unbelievably vocal about defending his territory. Your first introduction to the Rufous Hummingbird could be a screaming orange blur, not the familiar hovering Hummingbird. The male Rufous Hummingbird has an orange throat, rump, tail, and chest. We're sure you'll agree that our hand blown glass artist has captured the essence of the male Rufous Hummingbird.
Please see our page for Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds, Broad-Billed Hummingbirds, and more collectible hand-blown glass hummingbirds.
